In your role as a Transportation Analyst - Scheduling, at The North West Company (NWC), you will provide transportation network scheduling, support and analytics for the Canadian operations. Your Role:

  • Execute the Supply Chain Schedules for all required intake points in the Canadian network;
  • Develop all outbound schedules working with stores, carriers and the distribution locations to drive towards a minimum of two weekly services to all stores;
  • Communicate schedules to all interested parties;
  • Determine and assess transportation costs and their impact on NWC’s business units;
  • Investigate transportation alternatives within the current network and theoretical network solutions;
  • Analyze and benchmark service providers as per service standards;
  • Monitor and develop reporting and recommendations to improve service continually;
  • Communicate with supply chain partners to resolve any issues and improve performance when required;
  • Drive continuous improvement through the use of technology; and
  • Develop and improve initiatives that support NWC through logistics excellence.

Job Requirements

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education with a preference for those specializing in Supply Chain & Logistics;
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in logistical analysis;
  • Previous education or experience using transportation and financial modelling tools;
  • Ability to develop, implement and monitor Key Performance Metrics;
  • Previous experience working with the Oracle Transportation Management System;
  • An understanding of NWC’s diverse transportation network would be considered an asset;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word;
  • Proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and assignments;
  • Must be detail conscious while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and a demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information;
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers, and;
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
