In your role as the Legal Assistant and Licensing Coordinator, at The North West Company (NWC), you will provide legal and administrative support to the Legal Department.

Your Role:

  • File and maintain all licensing and permits for The North West group of companies;
  • Draft standard and non-standard correspondence (i.e. memos, letters, reports);
  • Initiate and participate in process and database improvement projects;
  • Communicate with internal clients and third-party governmental agencies on legal matters, and;
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Vice President Legal and Corporate Secretary.

 

Job Requirements

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a legal or executive assistant;
  • Minimum of 2-4 years experience dealing with licenses and permits;
  • Capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion;
  • Exceptional organization, detail orientation and proofreading skills;
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written;
  • Professional communication skills;
  • High level of enthusiasm, energy and determination;
  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative; and
  • Ability to prioritize while adhering to strict deadlines.
