In your role as General Warehouse Worker, Days, at The North West Company (NWC), you’re part of a team responsible for distributing products to our stores through order picking, ticketing, packing, as well as shipping and receiving. Your Role:

  • Accurately scan store labels to Pallet Identification Labels (Tracking ID’s);
  • Pick and receive big ticket items such as; Skidoos, Boats and ATVs;
  • Ensure all GM cartons are properly scanned and processed through the RF hand-held unit;
  • Assembly of pallets for shipment, along with accurate carton count and proper identification of wrapped skid;
  • Operate Radio Frequency (RF) hand-held computers and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the Strapping and Staging area;
  • Reserve allocation on complete pulldowns, put-aways and manuals;
  • Process merchandise for proper holding zone for shipping;
  • Report all scanning issues to the Strapping and Staging Team Lead;
  • Willing to cross train and work in other areas for departmental coverage and efficiency purposes; and,
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Job Requirements

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a food or general merchandise warehouse environment is an asset;
  • Ability to operate equipment i.e. forklift, order picker, walkie and reach truck;
  • Must be able to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently to meet production requirements;
  • Experience operating a RF hand-held computer efficiently and accurately;
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems is considered an asset;
  • Ability to operate and pull a manual pump truck;
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail;
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, and;
  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule based on departmental needs.

 

Location:  Winnipeg Logistics Service Centre, 100 Murray Park Road

Shift:        Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Status:     Regular Part Time
